Notts County have extended the loan spell of highly-rated Nottingham Forest defender Louis Laing for the remainder of his permitted 93-day stay with the club.
Laing arrived at Meadow Lane on an initial one-month deal in September and has played in every game since, forming a strong central-defensive partnership with Haydn Hollis that helped Notts concede just three goals in those seven matches.
The 21-year-old has now agreed to extend his stay with the club and will be allowed to stay for a maximum 93 days, including those amassed during his initial loan period, under the rules of his emergency loan move.
With club captain and fellow centre-back Hayden Mullins still sidelined through injury, the news will come as a major boost to Notts County Manager Shaun Derry ahead of the Sky Bet League 1 game against Crawley Town this weekend.
Tickets for this weekend’s game have been reduced in all home areas, with adults and concessions just £12 and under-16s £2 so if you haven’t already booked your seat for the game, contact the Meadow Lane Ticket Office on 0115 9557 210 or book online at www.nottscountydirect.co.uk.
