OSA launch GoFundMe for academy

Find out more about their fundraising

28 June 2021

Our Official Supporters Association have launched a GoFundMe page to aid their fantastic fundraising efforts for our academy.

As we have now been playing outside the EFL for two seasons, we no longer receive grant funding to help cover the cost of academy operations.

But, thanks to the generous support of our owners Chris and Alex Reedtz along with the committed work of the OSA, the academy’s future is secure.

The OSA will nevertheless be increasing their attempts to generate funds to support Chris and Alex’s increased investment and are calling on supporters to engage with the various initiatives they’ll be running throughout the 2021-22 season.

An OSA statement reads: “Firstly, we would like to place on record our sincere gratitude to Chris and Alex for securing the future of our academy. Clearly, without their commitment it would have been very difficult for it to continue and we have huge respect for what the owners have done.

“We will be joining forces with our academy manager, Dave Plant, to raise even more funds this season to build on our dedicated work in previous years which has helped provide a variety of equipment and transport for our stars of the future.

“Our fans and the club have always been incredibly supportive of our efforts and we know this will continue into what we all hope will be a very successful campaign for all our teams.

“Many fans have already been in touch to ask if they can help by taking part in various sponsored events, which has led to us setting up a GoFundMe page. Money donated to this account will be transferred into our bank account which will in turn be passed on to the academy for whatever they need. One-off donations via GoFundMe are also welcome.

“A number of fundraisers will follow throughout the season, including a collection on a designated matchday when Dave, his staff and players will be very grateful for your donations.

“Our committee would like to thank everyone for their tremendous continued support!”
