Former players' dinner postponed

1 May 2018

Notts County’s former players' annual dinner, due to take place on Saturday 12 May, has been postponed.

This is the date on which Notts will play their first leg in the semi-finals of the League Two play-offs and it won’t be known until after this weekend’s fixtures whether the match will be at home or away, or the kick-off time.

Brian Bates, secretary of the Former Players’ Association, explained: “We had to take the decision before knowing the result against Luton Town, and other results affecting who Notts will play in the semi-finals, chiefly on account of the players from Sam Allardyce’s record breaking promotion team of 20 years ago.

"They’d been invited as our special guests and some of them would be traveling long distances. They are disappointed, as we are, but we are sure it’s the right decision, though taken with some reluctance.”

Tickets bought by supporters will be valid on the new date, which has still to be decided.
