Notts County manager Kevin Nolan described his team's defensive display as 'simply not good enough' following the defeat at Newport County.

The Magpies were beaten 3-2 by the Exiles at Rodney Parade and Nolan was distinctly unhappy with his side's resolve.

"The lads have gifted the opposition three goals again tonight," said Nolan. "You can't expect to come away from home, score two goals and not win or draw the game.

"We spent lots of time on the training pitch yesterday doing set pieces - and we lost two goals to set pieces tonight.

"We're getting it wrong at key moments in the game and it's simply not good enough for me.

"What we've got to do now is make sure we roll our sleeves up because we go to Lincoln on Saturday and it's going to be a tough old day for us if we're not up for the battle."
