Tom Sissions graduated from the course this summer and has a bright future in the sports industry ahead of him.
He said: “I decided to study for my BTEC Futsal course at Notts County because I wanted to take a qualification in sport in a new environment, rather than a sixth form college or staying on at school. Playing futsal against other football clubs every Wednesday was also a massive draw.
"I was amazed by the high standard of coaching when I started the course. We had ex-professional and semi-professional football and futsal players coaching us who expected us to play and train to a really high level. Coaching sessions were brilliant.
"We benefited from some great opportunities, such as travelling to different parts of the country to play futsal matches and tournaments. Our coach, Dylan, organised for us to play a friendly against the England Under 19s futsal team as well.
"I enjoyed the teaching and lessons, but my favourite part was playing so often. My proudest moment was being presented with the top goalscorer award for League Two. During the course, I was head hunted by the International Futsal Academy at Loughborough University.
"I will be studying coaching there and playing for their futsal team from September 2017. Over the next year, I’m going to become a qualified personal trainer at the gym I work at. This course has put me in a position where I have plenty of career options in the future.”
