Keep our heads up

17 August 2016

Notts County's Matt Tootle says John Sheridan told the team to keep their heads up after last night's defeat against Plymouth.

The Magpies slipped to an unfortunate 2-1 reverse despite controlling the majority of the game.

And Tootle revealed the manager was sympathetic towards his players at full-time.

He said: "The gaffer’s said to keep our heads up and it’s going to come.

"We had chances, plenty of chances, and I think we can be encouraged with the way we went about our business second half.

"It’s just little mistakes leading to goals which are annoying."

The result leaves Notts searching for their first win of the season, with a trip to Hartlepool coming up on Saturday.

Tootle said: "It’ll take time. I remember in the season I went up with Crewe we lost the first six, so it’s nothing to worry about yet.

"We just need to keep working on it and keep plugging away."
