Curtis Thompson Signs New Deal At Notts County

30 January 2015

Notts County midfielder Curtis Thompson has put pen-to-paper on an extension to his current contract that will now run until the end of the 2016.17 season.

Thompson, who came through the youth ranks here at Meadow Lane, was the standout performer for Notts last weekend, a display that highlighted the 21-year-old’s rise to prominence of late.

Having made his debut for Notts against Chesterfield in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in the 2011.12 campaign, he spent a spell out on loan with Lincoln City later that season.

The Nottingham-born youngster then made his league debut for the club when he came off the bench against Preston North End the following season, before going on to make his first start against Colchester United.

It was the 2013.14 campaign that proved to be Thompson’s real breakthrough season at the club though, making 14 appearances and establishing himself as an accomplished central midfielder under Manager Shaun Derry towards the end of the season.

With his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, Thompson has now been rewarded for his continued progression with a new contract that will run until the end of the 2016.17 campaign.

Subscribers will be able to watch an interview with Curtis Thompson on signing his new deal on Magpie Player.
