New Development Centre For The Notts County Academy

23 February 2015

The club's Academy have a new Development Centre...

The Notts County FC Academy are delighted to announce that they are opening a new Development Centre for Under 7 and Under 8 players in the Mansfield and North Nottinghamshire areas.

The centre will open on Thursday 26th February 2015.

The new centre has been put in place to support the recruitment of players for the Academy and those who excel will be invited to join the Elite Under 8’s session at the Academy.

In partnership with Market Warsop FC, the sessions will be running on Thursday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.00pm for Under 7’s and 7.00pm to 8.00pm for Under 8’s and will take place in the indoor sports venue at The John Fretwell Sporting Complex.

Lead Foundation Phase Coach Dan Leivers was delighted when the centre was confirmed to be opening; “It has taken a while to make sure that this centre was up and running and we are really excited to see the benefits of bringing young players in this area.

"Working alongside our current centre at the Wildcats Arena in Sneinton and players moving into our Elite set up, we can hopefully begun to secure the best talent that Nottinghamshire has to offer.

"We are extremely grateful for the hospitality from Market Warsop FC and The John Fretwell Sporting Complex and we are looking forward to a successful partnership with them both for years to come."

The centre will be ran in line with the Notts County FC Foundation Phase Syllabus, which is designed to support the development of young players, in line with the Club’s Philosophy.

Scouts will be present around games in the area, but please feel free to contact Lead Foundation Phase Coach Dan Leivers, on, to arrange a trial.
