Mounteney Family Thank All At Notts County

1 September 2014

The family of John Mounteney have asked Notts County to pass on their thanks to all involved with the club...

The family of Honorary Lifetime Vice-President John Mounteney, who sadly passed away last month, have asked the club to pass on their sincere thanks for the support that they have received in recent weeks.

John’s wife Daphne rang the club on Monday to ask that we pass on the family’s gratitude to all involved with Notts County who have sent their best wishes and support since hearing the tragic news.

The family would like to thank the Board of Directors, the staff, supporters and many friends of the club for the cards, flowers and kind words that have been sent to them and for the fantastic turnout at John’s funeral, which took place in Nottingham on Wednesday.

Tributes flooded into the club from well-wishers who either knew and had met John, or simply wanted to thank him for the work that he had put in with his beloved Notts County over the years.

The family have been overwhelmed by the support shown for John, which has been testament to the gentleman that he was and the commitment and effort that he put into Notts throughout his life.

Daphne, John's son Edward, his daughter-in-law Debbie and grandson Luke would all like to pass on their most sincere thanks to everyone involved with Notts County for their support.
