Here Comes The Bride…

3 October 2014

The club are delighted to welcome two Notts County fans who are celebrating the biggest day of their lives here at Meadow Lane on Saturday...

Karen Wardle and Gary Beech met eight years ago at an FA Cup game, Leyton Orient away at Brisbane Road, and despite the 2-1 defeat the couple’s relationship blossomed.

The lifelong fans are getting married at the Council House with 80 friends and family, followed by a champagne reception and photos at the Memorial Gardens on the Embankment on Saturday.

The celebrations continue before kick-off in the 1862 Suite with a meal and speeches, before the pair walk the player’s out at 2.55pm.

Karen told the Official Site: “There really couldn’t be anywhere else where we would want to celebrate.

“It was a no brainer really - Notts County has been such a large part of our lives and relationship, it was never going to be anywhere else.

“The more we thought about it the idea grew and grew into what will happen. To lead the team out will be fantastic.

“We are both lifelong fans, it’s in our blood. We are season ticket holders and try to go to all the away matches too.

“I’m really exited about the Notts part of the day, but really nervous about saying the ‘I Do's’ and Gary is worrying slightly about what our guests and the crowd will sing to him as he walks on the pitch. We are expecting a round of... "You Don't Know What You're Doing”!

“We’d like to thank all the staff at the Lane for helping us organise our big day.”

Everyone at the club would like to congratulate the happy couple and hope you have a fantastic day on Saturday.
