Edwards: Plenty Of Plus Points

10 November 2014

Mike Edwards praised fellow defender Taylor McKenzie after he made his debut…

McKenzie came on to make his first ever professional start and Edwards was pleased with his performance.

Notts claimed a clean sheet and ensured that the Magpies were in the hat for Monday night's FA Cup draw.

He told Magpie Player: "Accrington are in good form, they worked hard for each other and made it difficult for us.

"It's hard when teams do that to break them down.

"The effort and desire was there, but just a touch of quality and luck was needed.

"We are in the hat still and that's the main thing. We have plenty of plus points with a clean sheet.

"Maybe we didn't create enough clean cut chances, but we put plenty of effort in.

"We've had a bit of form ourselves and been dogged to ensure we are in games. We will go away and hopefully get an early goal and the game will open up.

"I thought Taylor did well on his debut after the nightmare for Hayden coming off. He's come in, and it's hard to do that, to come off the bench, but he slotted in well.

"Now it's time to concentrate in the league and hopefully we can get a few bodies back from suspension and injury within the squad to freshen it up."
