Staying At Notts An Easy Decision

24 January 2014

Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish always knew that he wanted to spend the rest of the season with Notts County, despite interest from Championship clubs.

Grealish, 18, has made a name for himself as one of the most feared wingers in Sky Bet League 1 during the first half of the season, which prompted a number of clubs to register an interest.

The Republic of Ireland youth international has enjoyed every second of his time at Meadow Lane and was determined to continue playing a part in the Magpies’ fight against the drop.

He told Magpie Player: “I was buzzing that it all got sorted and now that I’m here for the rest of the season I can hopefully kick on now.

“I’ve been here since kind of the start of the season and the new management has come in and he’s told us what he wants from the lads.

“We’ve all started doing that now and you can see by the way that we’re playing that this is the right place for me.

“We’re playing good football now and we’ve got all the fans behind us and I’m enjoying it here.”

He added: “I feel like I’ve developed a lot as a player here, not just my attacking but my defending as well, which has come into play here.

“All I’m looking to do is to kick on and push Notts County up the table.

“Apart from our last game we’ve won our last three before that and there’s a much better feeling around the place, so hopefully we can carry on.”
