Midfielder Alan Smith knows it will be a difficult game on Sunday against Bristol City, but is excited for the challenge ahead…
The former MK Dons player returned to action from injury against Port Vale and is now hoping to make it three wins on the spin.
Bristol City have also made an impressive start and Smith knows, like the match at Vale Park, it will be another tough test.
He told Magpie Player: "We are up for the game. We approach every game in the same manner and we work hard behind the scenes to know as much of the opposition as possible.
"I think throughout this season we all know every game is going to be difficult whoever we face.
"Every team proves a difficult opposition and Bristol City will be no different. They've spent big this summer and they will be looking promotion this year.
"It will be a big test for us, a difficult one, but one we are looking forward to with belief in our own ability.
"We've had a lot of new players come in and it makes it difficult to build foundations, but since the first game we've all competed and we are going into games with the mind-set to stay in the game.
"That's building our confidence and we are still a team learning, we've not had too much time on the training ground with the amount of games we've played, but as the season goes on we hope to progress and tighten the unit up.
"We've started off stable and stubborn and hopefully we can push on and get that winning formula."
