Ellen White Signs Joint Notts Contract

1 April 2014

Ellen White has agreed an exciting new deal to play for both Notts County sides...

Notts County are delighted to announce the signing of England Ladies international Ellen White on a pioneering joint contract that will see the highly-rated striker available to represent both the men’s and women’s team.

White, who signed for Notts County Ladies from Arsenal ahead of the new FA Women’s Super League season, has caught the eye of Notts boss Shaun Derry in training and has now been added to the squad for the remainder of the men’s season.

The 24-year-old will become the first lady to represent the men’s team and was delighted to have agreed the dual contract, saying: “To have agreed a deal like this, on today of all days, is just fantastic and I’m really looking forward to playing for both Notts County sides, it’s a really exciting prospect.

“It will be a real challenge, but I’m no fool, I wouldn’t have agreed to this if I didn’t think I could perform to my best for both clubs and I just can’t wait to get started now.”

White is currently away on international duty with England and will not be available for this weekend’s Sky Bet League 1 game away to Brentford, but could make her debut in the home game against Port Vale a week later, subject to availability, as the ladies kick-off their season in the FA Cup the following day at home to Coventry City here at Meadow Lane.
