First team manager Chris Kiwomya is expected to hold further talks with the eight players offered new contracts after the weekend.
Kiwomya will attempt to retain the services of Alan Sheehan, Jeff Hughes, Yoann Arquin, Joss Labadie, Haydn Hollis, Curtis Thompson, Tyrell Waite and Greg Tempest, having announced the club’s retained list on Wednesday afternoon.
However, with the race on to bring in new players ahead of the 2013.14 campaign, Kiwomya explained that he will not wait around should he not be able to strike deals with the out-of-contract squad members.
“We will have to see what their representatives say and think and then move on from there,” he told the press.
“We will speak to the players maybe next week as they will be speaking to their agents.
“We will start to catch up with them and conclude it to see if they are coming on board.
“All the meetings were positive and I think they can all see where I am coming from.
“I want players who are on board and want to play for the club and give 100 per cent here every week.”
