Adams: We Can Do This

15 February 2013

Notts County youth team have the chance to book their place in the Youth Alliance Cup Northern Section Final on Saturday.

Following an impressive 3-0 Quarter-Final win over Macclesfield Town youth team on Tuesday, the young Magpies will face their Walsall counterparts at the Highfields training facility in the Semi-Final of the tournament.

Youth team coach Brett Adams is expecting a difficult encounter against the in-form Saddlers but has every faith that his side can record their ninth win in 10 matches.

He told Magpie Player: “It’s a huge game, because they are such a good team and are coming into this game off the back of beating Rochdale 2-0 and a 5-0 victory against Bury at the weekend.

“They’re doing well in their league, I think they’re third and have only lost two games.

“We know it’s going to be difficult but if we stick to our game plan anything can happen.

“That’s the beauty of it being a cup game – a one-off game – we’ve got to go out there and, first and foremost, defend.

“When we go forward, we’ve got to express ourselves and get plenty of shots on goal, and then, hopefully, we’ll come away with it.

“If we do, that’s a massive success for the season that we’re in a Final, albeit an Area Final, and the lads have worked ever so hard to get there. “

Fans can watch the match, which kicks off at 11am, for free, with directions to the training ground located here.
