Let's Make It A Night To Remember

27 August 2013

Notts County are not just travelling to Anfield to make up the numbers, says first team manager Chris Kiwomya.

The Magpies face Premier League giants Liverpool in Round 2 of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday evening (7.45pm kick-off).

With nearly 3,000 County fans making the trip and thousands more watching on Sky Sports, Kiwomya wants his players to make it a night to remember by causing an upset against the Reds.

"I do believe we can go there and get a result, it will be hard and we've got to try and stay in the game," he told the press.

"You need all 10 outfield players and the goalkeeper to have a good day and  be organised and know what they're doing.

"It'll be a against the odds but I believe that any team can deliver a good performance and if, on the day, you get the rub of the green, you never know.

"Night games and European nights there are very, very good and it'll be a good atmosphere.

"It will be a good experience for the Notts County fans and I just hope that we will put in a good performance and see how it goes on the day."

Further coverage is available in the Nottingham Post and as part of BBC Radio Nottingham's pre-match show.
