Jo Celebrates 20 Years At Notts County

2 August 2013

Notts County Football Club would like to congratulate accounts assistant and receptionist Jo Richardson on completing 20 years service for the club.

Jo hopes that she us still here at her beloved Magpies in many years to come.

Her life at Meadow Lane could not have gone any worse back on 2 August 1993, but despite an uncomfortable first day and thoughts that she would never come back, she stuck with it and has loved her time at the club.

Jo has held various different roles including working in the ticket office, club shop, the commercial department and even helped the groundstaff clear the snow off the pitch to ensure the games went ahead.

Speaking to the official site, she joked: “On day one I hated it, it was a manic August day and everyone was shouting at me.

"I was still learning about the role and looking back I didn’t think I would last that week - I didn’t want to come back!

“But now, I couldn’t live without the place, I’ve seen plenty of managers and players come and go, but I’ve made so many friends and it’s a great place to work."

She added: “I would have to say the 1997.98 season was fantastic and I have some great memories from back then.

“This place is my life, it’s a major part of my life, I might as well move into Meadow Lane after all this time!

"There’s nothing better than working at a football club, but not just any football club - this football club.”

Everyone at Meadow Lane would like to thank Jo for her outstanding contribution to the club.
