Hughesy Interviewed In #themag

20 September 2012

Frontman Lee Hughes heads up Portsmouth edition of The Mag…

Lee Hughes believes that the togetherness in the dressing room is the best it has been since the Magpies lifted the League 2 championship in 2009.10.

12 new players arrived at Meadow Lane in the summer and have settled in excellently to help the team build upon an impressive conclusion to the 2011.12 campaign.

Notts have started the season well and are ranked third in npower League 1 after back-to-back away draws with Oldham Athletic and MK Dons that created a new club record of 11 games unbeaten on the road.

Hughes, who has netted twice so far this term, has a good feeling about the season ahead and is enjoying life at the club.

“You can feel it in the changing room that everyone’s close,” he told the club’s official matchbook, #themag.

“There’s not that many arguments and you can feel the spirit in there.

“The work that the coaches put in and what we produce on a Saturday, there’s a good buzz in there - it is definitely getting there.

“If you get on off the pitch, you’re going to fight for each other on the pitch.

“It does show when you get out there and I’m hoping that it can help us move on to good things this year.

“We feel like we’ve got a strong squad here and the manager’s brought in some decent players.

“You can see that we’re hard to play against and we don’t concede many goals and that’s a great foundation to base your team on, I think we’ve got a great chance this season.”

Make sure you get your hands on this Saturday’s edition of #themag for just £3.
