Dean Leacock has praised his teammates for their commitment to the cause, following the weekend’s win over Portsmouth.

A series of brave blocks and challenges during the opening 45 minutes ensured that the Magpies kept a clean sheet.

This allowed Keith Curle’s side to claim a 3-0 win over Pompey thanks to goals from Yoann Arquin (2) and Alan Judge.

Leacock, who arrived in the summer, has played every league match this term and has a lot of faith in the squad, who are now second in npower League 1.

“We’ve got an honest bunch of lads down here and they’ll do anything for the team,” he told Magpie Player.

“Throwing themselves in the way of shots on Saturday just shows what kinds of lads they are.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with them so far and long may it continue.”

Notts are now unbeaten in six heading into Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

“We’ve had a lot of momentum and confidence is very high,” continued Leacock.

“We’ve got a few days off, but we’ll take it into Saturday and we’ll be happy to go there and play our game.

“Hopefully we can come away from there with another good result.”
