Curle: We Can Beat Anybody

6 November 2012

Only statistic that bothers the boss is the Magpies' points total...

Keith Curle believes that Notts County are a match for any team in npower League 1.

The Magpies are yet to beat a team in the top half of the table this term but the gaffer is not concerned in the slightest.

County have put in a number of strong performances against promotion rivals and sit sixth in the league, only six points adrift of table toppers Tranmere Rovers.

Notts can make it 17 matches unbeaten on the road with a positive result on Tuesday night against 12th placed Colchester United.

“It’s a fantastic feat and there’s been a lot of commitment, desire and application from the players,” said Curle.

“We go into games with the mental attitude that we’re not going to get beat, because that’s what we’re all about.

“I don’t look at where anybody is in the league, I just look at whether we can beat them.

“I think we can beat anybody in this division on our day.

“That’s from the top down, we will compete against every team in this division.”

Curle is expecting a tough 90 minutes against the U’s, who are looking to bounce back after being dumped out of the FA Cup with Budweiser by non-league Chelmesford.

“They know being the home team, they’ll try to press their style of play on us,” he continued.

“They’ve got some good attacking threats, some good options, but, like most League 1 clubs, we think they’ve got some weaknesses that we can expose as well.”
