Growing As A Team

26 July 2012

Midfielder is happy with how the team is gelling together…

Joss Labadie has high hopes for the 2012.13, based on what he has experienced so far.

The tenacious midfielder showcased some of his best qualities in Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw with Alfreton Town, covering plenty of grass and putting in some strong tackles during a 45-minute performance.

Labadie is settling in well at Meadow Lane and is excited with how the squad is developing.

“I like to play in front of the deepest midfielder, it gives me a chance to get forward and get in the box,” he told Magpie Player.

“Tackling’s also a big part of my game and it’s something that I enjoy but I’m not only about tackling, I like to pass and I like to score goals as well."

He continued: “All the lads are getting their fitness back and we’re getting used to the way that each over play, and things are coming together quite nicely, I think.

“I know Alfreton are a lower league team but the gaffer has emphasised that he wants us to pass the ball and that’s what we practiced.

“I like to pass the ball and passing suits the majority of the team, we’ve got a lot of good players here.

“I feel like I’m getting to know the other players and I’m enjoying myself.

“I’m really confident this season with the players that we’ve got and the way that we’ve been playing.

“I think we can really push on this year and challenge at the top of the league.”
