Stopper Seeks Another Quiet 90

21 February 2014

Goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is hoping for a repeat home performance when Notts County face Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon.

In the last Meadow Lane fixture, Notts ran away as 3-0 winners over Coventry City, following the team’s most complete display of the campaign.

Bialkowski was rarely called into action and it proved to be the least he has worked for a clean sheet all season.

The in-form stopper hopes that his defence can deliver another strong showing in a vital six-pointer at the bottom of Sky Bet League 1.

He said: “I hope so because that was a nice and easy game for me in comparison to some this season.

“Apart from Walsall, we’ve shown before that at home we’re really strong and we’ve got to be confident because we’re in a difficult situation.

“It was so frustrating after the Wolves game - it wasn’t our day but it wasn’t acceptable.

“In our current position we can’t afford to be at 50 per cent and we need to be at 100 per cent every single game.

“The training sessions this week have been fantastic - the boys have really been on it - and we need to take this into the game.”

He continued: “it’s a massive game for us but all the remaining games are and we need to go out onto the pitch and simply win the game.

“It’s a six-pointer because they’re in a similar place to where we are and we need to be at it every game.

“It’s not going to be easy but we’re definitely going to fight for it.”
