Notts County Fans Can Get Us Over The Line In Final Two, Says Skipper Alan Sheehan

25 April 2014

Notts County supporters played a massive part in helping the team to earn three points last weekend and Alan Sheehan has called for the same kind of backing against Swindon Town.

Notts claimed a fourth consecutive victory at Meadow Lane on Bank Holiday Monday in a nail-biting encounter with Crawley Town.

The noise from the home sections was arguably the best of the season so far and Sheehan revealed that it helped the Magpies to hold on for all three points.

With Swindon looking to clinch a place in the Play-Offs, they will be travelling to Meadow Lane needing a win - just like County.

Sheehan feels that the 12th man can go a long way in helping Notts complete The Great Escape in the remaining two fixtures.

“In the last 10 or 15 minutes of the game the other day, we were under the cosh for large parts of the game and we were keeping the ball in the corner, but the fans got us through that game," he told Magpie Player.

“We were very tired from the game on the Friday and you could hear them shouting and every cheer - it got us over the line.

“We’ve won four on the bounce now at home and it’s nice to have our home ground as a bit of a fortress - even if it last few games.

“We’re going into this game with five wins out of seven and the confidence is high.

“There’s a good feeling about the place with two games left and it’s very, very exciting.”
