McLaughlin: Disappointed With The Goals We Conceded

19 October 2014

Winger Stephen McLaughlin was happy with the three points, but disappointed with the three goals Notts conceded…

The Magpies stormed into a 3-0 lead, but let Crawley Town back into the game by conceding three times in the second half.

He hopes by reviewing the game on Monday, that the team can quickly learn from their mistakes.

The Forest loanee added two assists on Saturday and hopes to add more in a tough week.

He told Magpie Player: “It was a bit mixed performance really.

“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy in the second half, but I thought we responded well after the slip, to push on and score more goals.

“Throughout the week, we worked on getting myself on the ball more and Crawley never picked me up.

“It was a great finish by Gaz for his first and third. He is one of those players where he will play anywhere in the team.

“He has a great first touch and we are all thrilled for him.

“We are glad to send the fans home happy, but we are disappointed to concede two soft goals. We will look at the goals on Monday and see how we can rectify them ready for the next game.

“It’s now nine unbeaten and we want to keep pushing on up the table.

“Two away games coming and they are all tough. We will have to be at our best and we will prepare right.”
