Derry: Disappointed And Delighted After Eight Goal Thriller

19 October 2014

Manager Shaun Derry admitted there is plenty to work on despite coming through an eight goal thriller…

Derry was clearly happy with his squad’s attacking attributes, but knows they will have to defend better this week to keep the unbeaten run going.

Notts face Barnsley and Scunthorpe away from home on Tuesday and Saturday respectively as the Magpies aim to make it 10 and 11 games unbeaten.

The 5-3 win over Crawley Town moved Notts up to sixth and into the play-off positions.

He told Magpie Player: “I thought the attacking play throughout was fantastic, we looked dangerous every time we got the ball.

“Obviously the positives is that we are another game unbeaten and these lads don’t want to give it up.

“The goals we conceded did annoy me. I would rather won 3-0, than 5-3.

“Two of out of the three, we should have defended better and that disappointed me.

“As much as I am delighted that we won, it is tinged with disappointment.

“I am pleased with our league position, we are punching above our weight and I want us to do that.

“When you concede three goals in the second half, I want them to be disappointed and take it into Tuesday’s game and make sure we don’t make those mistakes again.”
