Club's Rev Ready For Big Sleep

20 November 2014

The club's Reverend Liam O'Boyle will be sleeping outside for charity…

On Saturday 29 November the Rev and his wife Sally and children Eleanor (14) and Sam (11) are taking part in 'The Big Sleep Out' where they will be spending the night outside in Nottingham city centre on behalf of the charity Framework.

'The Big Sleep Out' will take place at The Sneinton Market Place, outside Victoria Leisure Centre.

The family will be spending the night without your usual comforts, but will have lots of fun, as well as the chance to reflect on what it is like to be without a home.

Rev Liam told the Official Site: “As a family we’re taking part in ‘The Big Sleep Out’ because we want to help to raise money to support increasing numbers of local homeless and vulnerable people in our city.

"Our kids are very excited about sleeping outside, even at the end of November, which might be just a little bit chilly!

"I must admit I’m not a big fan of camping outside even in roasting hot weather, so I guess you could say I'm a bit nervous about sleeping under a cardboard shelter in November, especially as we have to build the shelter on the night and I reckon I was the last in the queue when God was handing out DIY skills!

"I'm hoping the event will raise awareness of the homelessness in our city and raise further funds for Framework."
