Notts County FC chairman checks his vision is on the ball...

Notts County chairman Ray Trew thought it was a wise idea to have his eyes tested to make sure that he can clearly see the attractive football coming up at Meadow Lane this season.

Ray visited the Vision Express store in Nottingham Victoria Centre, where he underwent a series of eye examinations as well as a contact lens consultation.

Ray said: “It’s sometimes easy to put off going to the opticians to get your eyes tested, but as someone who has worn glasses for many years, I know the importance of getting regular check-ups.

“We all want to see the action here at Meadow Lane in the clearest detail and after undergoing an eye test myself, I can highly recommend Vision Express to all of our supporters, not only as a key sponsor of the club, but as one of the country’s leading opticians.

“The support that Vision Express has shown to the club in recent years has been fantastic and I am delighted that the service that I received was in keeping with the high standards that we look for in our commercial partners.”

Assistant store manager Jan Goold said: “Having your eyes tested is an important health check as it not only shows whether you may need a prescription, but can also detect eye conditions including dry eye syndrome and age related macular degeneration, as well as general health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.”

“We recommended that you have your eyes tested every two years or more frequently if recommended by your optician.

"Vision Express in Nottingham has over 100 ways to assess your eyes and can tailor an eye test to meet your individual needs.”

Eye tests are available most days, and the team is always on hand to help you choose the perfect glasses for your style and budget from one of the largest designer collections on the high street including Superdry, Ted Baker and Gucci.

It is Vision Express’ third year as the club's away shirt sponsor, previously striking a deal in the summer of 2010.

Vision Express brand strategy director Brian Linnington said: "As a resident business in the city, Vision Express are delighted to support Notts County Football Club and wish them every success during this, their 150th anniversary season."
