Notts County manager John Sheridan says his team must keep more clean sheets if they are to achieve their ambitions this season.
The Magpies have found life difficult in Sky Bet League Two recently and, starting with Saturday's visit of Wycombe Wanderers, Sheridan wants to see his side tighten things up at the back.
He said: "We know we can beat any team on our day but it's about getting consistency in your game and, first and foremost, keeping clean sheets.
"We create chances and score goals - going forward we're not bad.
"I've got to get the mentality that we're going to concede before we've even kicked a ball out of the players.
"Wycombe are going really well at the moment. They're a hard team to play against - very workman-like. They play to their strengths - they play off the front, put balls in the box, try to get you on the back foot early and get people around the ball.
"But we need to start winning at home."
Sheridan will still be without the services of Alex Rodman, although Jordan Richards has returned to training.
Jon Stead came through 45 minutes for the reserves unscathed on Tuesday, as did Curtis Thompson.
And the midfielder, who is yet to make an appearance this season, is champing at the bit according to Sheridan.
The manager said: "He's training like a nutter at the moment - but that's what he's all about. He wants to get in and around people and he's getting fitter and fitter.
"But he's been out a long time so you've got to be careful. He played 45 minutes (for the reserves) the other day and did well. I'll speak to the physio but he's pushing to get back in."
