Youth Team Looking For First Win

5 September 2014

Notts County Youth Team will be looking to earn their first three points of the season on Saturday as they travel to Rotherham United…

The Magpies were unfortunate to lose last weekend in the cup on penalties to Burton Albion and will be hoping to bounce back quickly.

Notts do have injury problems though and will be missing left-back Kyle Symons through international duty.

Head of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall told the Official Site: "We do have one or two injuries again, but that will give others another opportunity.

"Kyle will be on international duty and we wish him all the best playing for Northern Ireland Under 19s.

"Centre-back Kenan Layton is likely to miss out for a couple of weeks with a groin injury and midfielder Kieran Blaney is out with a toe injury, so it's more or less the same squad as last weekend.

"Striker Colby Bishop is still on the sidelines with a hamstring problem. We don't want to rush him back in, until it's sorted. He might need another week and it's important we don't put him in.

"Elliot (Brown) is working hard up front, but he just needs a goal and that will help his confidence. Hopefully it will come this weekend.

"It gives others an opportunity to come in and show us what they are all about. We will be looking at the back four and the forward line, see how we can mix it up a little."
