Fiery Scot O'Brien has been a driving force in our midfield since joining us from Bradford in January 2019.
The experienced midfielder endured a torrid time with injuries in the 2019-20 season when he suffered a double fracture and dislocation of his arm away to Bromley before sustaining a deep gash to his leg in his comeback match against Chesterfield in the FA Trophy.
He bounced back with a strong 2020-21 campaign, including a memorable hat-trick away at Maidenhead United, and earned himself a new deal to seal his status as the longest-serving member of our squad.
O'Brien came through the ranks at Celtic and had spells with Dunfermline Athletic, Dundee United and Motherwell before moving south of the border with Barnsley.
He spent four seasons at Oakwell ahead of a switch to Coventry, where he made 70 appearances, and has also played for Shrewsbury and Ross County.
