Popular wing-back Chicksen returns to the EFL on the back of an incredible 2022-23 season on both a personal and team level.

The super-charged wing-back's professionalism, work-rate and consistency were as high as ever - but one thing nobody saw coming was his form in front of goal.

Having only previously scored seven in his entire career, the experienced campaigner hit the net an incredible 11 times as he stepped up to the attacking demands placed upon him by new head coach Luke Williams.

Chicksen, who initially found first-team opportunities hard to come by following his arrival in 2020, banished those early frustrations by producing impressive performances under previous head coach Ian Burchnall.

Comfortable on the left of a back three as well as at wing back, Chicksen has played the vast majority of his career in League One but had been without a club since January 2020 following his surprise release from League One side Bolton Wanderers.

A product of MK Dons' academy, Chicksen qualifies for Zimbabwe and won his first cap in a friendly against Zambia in 2018.
