We have provided the following update on Jodi Jones following his latest call-up to the Malta squad.
Having sustained an injury during Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two match against Barrow, Jones has been unable to travel and has therefore not joined his national team ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Italy (Saturday) and Ukraine (next Tuesday).
While the injury is not serious, further treatment is required before he is ready for competitive action and, despite him remaining at the club, he will not participate in tonight’s EFL Trophy fixture against Derby County.
We remain in regular dialogue with the Maltese FA to update them on Jodi’s progress and consider the best course of action for all parties.
