Jodi Jones has accepted our offer of a two-year contract.
The Malta international has become a hugely popular figure at Meadow Lane since arriving on loan from Oxford United midway through the 2022-23 season, working hard to build his fitness and contributing some excellent performances on our way to promotion.
His biggest moment in black and white came in our play-off semi-final against Boreham Wood when his fierce strike at the end of extra time sent us to Wembley and sparked scenes of jubilation.
And our board of directors are delighted that he’ll be around to deliver many more big moments for us in the EFL.
A statement reads: “We, along with our head coach Luke Williams, share our supporters’ appreciation of Jodi’s obvious talent and love for the game.
“His football fanaticism is so apparent in his distinctive playing style and how hard he works for the team. He embodies the type of player and person we want to have at the club and we’re really excited to see him at the peak of his powers once he’s had a full pre-season under his belt.
“After everything Jodi has been through, we’re so pleased we were able to give him the platform to perform last season and the memories of him celebrating against Boreham Wood will live long in everyone’s memory.
“We know how determined Jodi is to progress from here, not only for himself but also his incredibly supportive family, and we’re behind him all the way.”
