Funeral: Jason Turner

CEO remembered in beautiful service

4 May 2023

Our late chief executive Jason Turner was remembered in a beautiful funeral service at St Mary's Church on 3 May.

His procession passed through the car park outside the Derek Pavis Stand, pausing for a short while in front of staff and supporters who had gathered to be with him on his final visit to Meadow Lane.

The cortege carried on to the church in the Lace Market, where club chaplain Rev. Liam O'Boyle delivered a heartfelt and touching service which included readings from some of Jason's close friends and colleagues.

After Jason was laid to rest, a celebration of his life was held in the 1862 Suite with hundreds in attendance.

Following his passing, tributes from Jason's friends and colleagues poured in and his parents, Jen and David, took great comfort from the many beautiful words.

They said: “As a family, we have been overwhelmed by the kindness shown to us at this devastating time, particularly by Chris and Alex Reedtz, Luke Williams, the club’s amazing staff and supporters.

“Losing Jason is the hardest thing we’ve ever experienced – but the messages, tributes and flowers have been so reassuring.

“At the recent match against Wealdstone, it was an honour to lead out the team in Jason’s memory and we can’t thank both clubs enough for the wonderful way they welcomed us and paid tribute to our beloved son.

“Again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone for their thoughtfulness and respect.”
