Macaulay Langstaff has signed a new contract which commits him to the club until the end of the 2026-27 season.
The 26-year-old has been a sensation since his arrival from Gateshead last summer, smashing club and league records by scoring 42 goals, all from open play, as we won promotion to the EFL In his debut season.
And our board of directors are delighted Langstaff has accepted our offer of a new long-term deal.
“It will come as no surprise to anyone that we consider Macaulay to be a special talent – not only due to his obvious prowess in front of goal but also his ability to relentlessly press from the front, as evidenced by the part he played in Saturday’s goal,” they said.
“Beyond that, as a person he has everything we look for. He’s an excellent professional, a much-loved team-mate and a tremendous ambassador for the club who has proved himself more than capable of handling the pressure and expectation that comes with leading our line.
“Number-nines of Macaulay’s calibre are incredibly hard to find and, as we plot the club’s path towards further success, we believe he can grow with us and be a key player regardless of where the next four years take us.”
Langstaff added: “I would like to say a massive thank you to the club for offering me this new contract, which I’m delighted to sign.
“I’m also so grateful to the head coach and his staff for the unbelievable guidance they’ve given me, as well as the fans for welcoming me so warmly into the club.
“The experience of playing for Notts County as part of this special group of players has surpassed all my expectations and I feel so fortunate to be part of it.
“As proud as I am to have scored so many goals so far, it wouldn’t have happened without the incredible standard of coaching and players we have here.
