September POTM: Langstaff

Record-setting win for forward

10 October 2022

Macaulay Langstaff has become the first player in history to win back-to-back Vanarama National League Player of the Month awards.

The 25-year-old joined us in the summer after helping fire Gateshead to the 2021-22 National League North title with 32 goals – a return which saw him named the league’s Player of the Season.

Deployed in a more central role at Meadow Lane, the Teessider continued his prolific form by bagging an incredible six goals in his debut month to win August’s trophy.

Remarkably he showed no signs of slowing down in September, hitting another six goals to stake another huge claim for this month's title.

And Langstaff, whose exploits have him level on league goals (15) with Manchester City’s headline-grabbing forward Erling Haaland, today made history by being confirmed as the National League’s Player of the Month for the second time in succession.

Everyone at the Lane congratulates Macca, who already has three goals in October, for his record-setting achievement and continued success.
