We can confirm that Kyle Wootton has departed Meadow Lane to sign for a club in the EFL.
The centre forward’s contract expires at the end of the month and he has decided not to accept our offer of a new deal.
A statement from our board of directors reads: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Kyle for his immense contribution, both on and off the field, throughout his time at the club.
“Having joined us initially on loan from Scunthorpe United in 2019-20, Kyle’s talent and potential was clear to see straightaway and we were delighted to bring him to Meadow Lane on a permanent deal.
“Since then we feel the club has helped Kyle improve hugely and he has rewarded us with an excellent goal return and tremendous service as our vice-captain.
“We wish him all the best for the future.”
