A percentage of proceeds from our pre-season friendly against Basford United will be donated to charity following the sad passing of Jamie Brough.
Jamie had been announced as the new chairman at Greenwich Avenue and, following consultation with his family, the charity Sport in Mind will receive a portion of the gate receipts from the match on Tuesday 5 July (7.45pm).
Our chief executive Jason Turner said: “Everyone at Notts County was deeply shocked and saddened by the terrible news of Jamie’s passing.
“We knew Jamie well from the relationship we had built with Sports Gateway and echo all the wonderful tributes which have been paid to him.
“Our thoughts continue to be with his family and we encourage our supporters to attend this fixture in support of them and a wonderful charity in Sport in Mind.”
Jamie’s son, Jude, added: “We want to say a massive thank you to Chris Munroe at Basford United and the guys at Notts County for making this happen for an excellent cause.
“The support we have received as a family has been brilliant and it’s clear to see the impact Jamie had on many people’s lives. He’ll be in our memories and hearts forever.”
