Inspection by groundstaff this morning has confirmed that the Meadow Lane surface remains soft and perfectly playable ahead of tonight's Vanarama National League visit of Gateshead.
Covers have been in place throughout the recent cold weather and will not be removed until around 5pm to minimise the effects of tonight's forecasted cold temperatures.
The match referee will arrive at this time to conduct his own initial assessment of the surface, but a formal pitch inspection is not anticipated.
