An excellent performance was only rewarded with a point as Bromley held us to a 2-2 draw at Meadow Lane.
The visitors went ahead against the run of play in the first half when Mark Ellis was forced to turn the ball into his own net when Michael Cheek nodded it across goal.
But, shortly after the restart, we were back on level terms when Ruben Rodrigues' low cross was turned home by Kyle Wootton at close range.
And we had a throroughly deserved lead not long after when half-time substitute Enzio Boldewijn did brilliantly to cross for the excellent Calvin Miller who saw his header saved. Rodrigues was in the right place at the right time to guide home the rebound.
We twice came agonisingly close to extending our lead as Jim O'Brien struck the post with a fine effort before Rodrigues hit the bar with a lovely free-kick.
But we were dealt a sucker punch with 15 minutes to play when Tate Campbell got into space in the area to equalise with a stooping header.
Elisha Sam, on for O'Brien, saw an effort heroically blocked before having a huge penalty appeal waved away when a defender's arm appeared to get in the way of his attempted cut-back.
And the visitors managed to see out the four added minutes to claim an unlikely point.
