Chicksen extends stay

Versatile defender to remain at the Lane

29 June 2021

Adam Chicksen has signed a new contract at Meadow Lane.

The 29-year-old established himself as a key figure in Ian Burchnall’s three-man defence and the head coach is delighted Chicksen will be part of his plans heading into the new campaign.

“Adam played a huge role in our strong run into the play-offs and brings invaluable versatility to the squad,” said Burchnall.

“As we’ve seen, he’s comfortable in the left of a back three but he can also play as a full back and wing back. He has the footballing intelligence to adapt to different systems.

“When I came into the club I was really struck with Adam’s professionalism and commitment in training and, having backed that up with consistent performances on the field, he thoroughly deserves this opportunity.

“With Kyle Cameron joining and Connell Rawlinson signing a new deal, Adam strengthens our back line even further and I’m very pleased with how we’re looking in this area of the pitch.”
