Neal Ardley is expecting another tactical battle when two of the league’s best passing sides meet at Meadow Lane this evening.
The boss guided us to a closely-contested 0-0 draw against Torquay United on Saturday and he says his players will need to produce another astute performance against Solihull Moors if they’re to earn a victory against their fellow promotion hopefuls.
“It’ll be a real challenge,” said Ardley. “They’re a total change from last season - they play a good brand of football and, from the data I’ve got, they’re only second to us in having the highest amount of possession in the league.
“They’ve been playing 3-4-3 – a really brave formation which causes you problems tactically if you get it wrong without the ball. We’re going to have to work hard, get our distances right and know who’s pressing where otherwise it can feel like you’re a player or two short.
“On the flip side we’ve got to know how we’re going to beat their press, break lines and cause them problems.
“The boys will be up to speed and it’s up to them to deliver on the night.”
