Neal Ardley has revealed that Cal Roberts could play some part in next weekend's Buildbase FA Trophy tie against Oxford City.
The winger has made only six appearances for us so far this season because of a groin problem but, following a successful operation, he has now returned to training with his team-mates.
And, while Ardley remains very cautious, he's hopeful that our quarter-final tie could present Roberts with the opportunity to make his first appearance since November.
"I’ve told him that if he can get his fitness levels into a good place, I’d consider him for the squad against Oxford City," said the boss.
"I've dangled that carrot for him but I obviously don’t want him to push too hard. He’s got to be right and he’s got to get the hard yards in because, without them, he’ll get injured.
"He’s trained most of the week but this has only been his first few days, so I don’t want us to get ahead of ourselves only to find he’s stiff as a board next week.
"Let’s wait to see where he is next Thursday or Friday."
