Matty Wolfe and Neal Ardley have been discussing the midfielder's loan move to Meadow Lane.
Wolfe has joined us from Barnsley until 3 January and is looking forward to building on his senior debut for the Tykes last term.
"Coming on and getting the win against Nottingham Forest in my debut last season was amazing and it's just made me want to kick on and get more men's football under my belt," he said.
"I like to try and get on the ball, drive with it and break lines and make things happen.
"My fitness is getting there - I've played a couple of games but not 90 minutes yet so I need to get some training under my belt and see how I'm feeling."
Ardley added: “We wanted someone who can look after the ball, understands the game and has good energy. If they had good size and could be a threat or a marker at set pieces, that would have been a bonus. Matty ticked all those boxes.
“He’ll fit the way we play – he can play in a two, he can play as a four or an eight. He fits the mould of everything we want from our midfield.
“He’s technically very proficient and moves very well for a big lad. I think he can score and create goals while also being able to do all the nitty-gritty stuff that’s needed in this league.
"He’s very highly regarded by Barnsley and it was just a case of seeing if we could get him - and luckily for us we could.”
