Scott Wilson has been left delighted by the start he's made to life at Meadow Lane.
The striker signed on Friday morning and bagged his first goal for the club little over 24 hours later to complete the scoring in our Buildbase FA Trophy semi-final win against Aveley.
And it’s the perfect start, according to the 27-year-old.
“It doesn’t get any better than that so I’m delighted,” he said.
“It’s always good to get a goal but doing so in your first game gives you confidence and helps the other lads to have confidence in you as well.
“Playing on the shoulder and going through one-on-one is my game and that was the ideal situation for me.
“I’ve practised it many times and it was a great feeling to score.”
Now he’s made his debut – and marked it in style – Wilson is looking forward to the rest of the campaign with his new team-mates.
“This is a very good group of players,” said the striker.
“It’s a good squad and the team spirit is there, which gets you far in the Vanarama National League.
“Now I’m here I want to help get the club back up at the first time of asking and it’s going to need all of us to play our part, but we can definitely do it.”
