This weekend’s Vanarama National League home match against Woking is our dedicated Football V Homophobia fixture.
Football v Homophobia is an international initiative that exists to challenge discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression at all levels of football.
The organisation wants football to take a clear stand against homophobia and transphobia so that everyone can enjoy the beautiful game and so that football leads the way in removing discrimination and prejudice based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Football v Homophobia works on a number of levels from events, to campaigning, to policy guidance and throughout all aspects of football from grassroots to the professional game.
As part of the day, our corner flags and captain’s armband will sport the rainbow colours and our LGBT Pies supporters group will be joined by Pride in Football and the LGBT Trickies to raise awareness of the work they do.
If you’re interested in finding out more about LGBT Pies, please contact our supporter liaison officer Alice Kelk.
