Les inducted into Hall of Fame!

Celebratory event a huge success

27 October 2019

Our all-time leading goalscorer Les Bradd was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame at a special event attended by Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz.

Bradd, who remains heavily involved with the club as an ambassador and is also part of Notts County Football in the Community’s team, scored 125 league goals in 379 starting appearances between 1967 and 1978.

And his amazing record was recognised, along with two important club anniversaries, at Meadow Lane.

Guests not only had the opportunity to raise a toast to Bradd, but also to Tommy Lawton – who spearheaded Notts’ promotion to the old Second Division by scoring 31 goals in the 1949-50 season - 100 years on from his birth (6 October).

Barrie Williams, former editor of the Nottingham Post, who collaborated with Lawton’s son in writing the book Get in There, an enthralling story of a real soccer legend, was joined by Tommy's former team-mate Pat Groome in paying tribute.

On 8 November, it will be 50 years since the appointment of Jimmy Sirrel, who went on to become our most successful manager of all time as he guided us from the old Fourth Division to the top flight.

And Don Masson was present to pay tribute to Jimmy with a brilliant speech.

As a special extra treat, those present also heard from both our owners Christoffer and Alexander, rounding off a truly memorable evening.

Video highlights from the evening will be available to watch on PiesPlayer in due course.
