Notts County’s off-field staff have issued the following message on the eve of the new season.
With a very difficult summer now behind us and an exciting campaign on the horizon, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Neal Ardley, his staff and players the very best of luck at Eastleigh tomorrow and in the months ahead.
As Michael Doyle rightly said in his recent interview, the problems we have faced as a club have only served to bring everyone together. We are behind the lads all the way.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us, as staff, while we were not being paid. The fundraising efforts of our Official Supporters’ Association were incredible and the donation we received from Lifeline was very much appreciated – please sign up if you haven’t already.
Thank you, also, to Ilkeston Town and Nottingham Forest for their fundraising efforts and good luck to both clubs for the season ahead.
While we are of course relieved to have welcomed Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz to the club and are looking forward to the next chapter in our history, we should not forget about the troubles facing our colleagues at Bury, Bolton and other clubs experiencing financial difficulties. We stand in solidarity with them and wish for a happy conclusion.
Safe travels to everyone heading to Eastleigh and we look forward to hosting our first home game of the season when Stockport County visit Meadow Lane on Tuesday evening.
