Training ground secured

Magpies to use Forest facilities for 2019-20 campaign

31 August 2019

Notts County have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to lease training facilities from the Reds for the duration of the 2019-20 season.

The Magpies, who have been based at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus since returning for pre-season training in June, will use Forest’s Holme Road facility from mid-September.

Notts chairman Christoffer Reedtz said: “Firstly, we would like to place on record our gratitude to Nottingham Trent University. They were a huge help to the club in its time of need and we appreciate how welcoming they have been to us.

“When Alex and I arrived at the club one of our biggest priorities was to find a suitable long-term facility that Neal and his players could call home, and we’re delighted Forest have agreed to help us.

“We are hugely grateful to their chairman, Nicholas Randall QC, who very kindly invited us to The City Ground on Tuesday to watch Forest’s Carabao Cup victory over Derby County.

“This came after he and director Jonny Owen were welcomed to Meadow Lane for our National League match against Wrexham.

“We feel that a healthy relationship between ourselves and Forest can be mutually beneficial and we are encouraged by the progress we are making in this area.

“We are very much looking forward to using Forest’s excellent facilities and working together with them more in the future.”
